Another Two-Show Day

Edinburgh, originally uploaded by Dave Gorman.

It turns out I was lying when I said it was just 7.40pm every night and business-as-usual from here on in.

I loved the afternoon show on Saturday - and it sold out - and next Saturday evening is sold out too... so we've put another Saturday afternoon show in for next week.

So... it's business as usual for the week - and tickets are available for Monday onwards - but on Saturday I've got another matinee. 8 days and 9 shows left to go...

Wonderful! Awesome!

@Crikey: sorry for deleting your post... but it contained spoilers.

I'm glad you enjoyed the show despite needing the loo... but it's an hour. I don't think it's too much to ask a grown up to have a wee before sitting in a theatre for an hour. If drinking several pints means you need a wee more frequently than that... well, don't drink several pints before going to sit in a theatre!

As it happens, I love a sober audience. Comedy is about an exchange of ideas. Drunk people aren't as quick and clever and get less of the humour than sober people. And need the loo less!

I saw your show on the half price day, so twice the value! It was excellent, probably the funniest I've seen in ten years of fringe attendance but certainly the most professional and clearly well structured and rehearsed show. I get the impression that the vast majority of shows are cobbled together, yours clearly wasn't so thank you.

@R Kennedy: I think I'm lucky in that my way of working - with this show in particular - makes it look slick and rehearsed even when it isn't. (In reality, I don't know any solo stand-up who actually rehearses... without an audience it is a pointless exercise) But if you saw it on one of the 2 for 1 nights it wasn't a well rehearsed show because I'd only done 9 pre-Edinburgh previews and a couple of in-Edinburgh previews at that stage. The thing is, it has to be tight to work... so it just is.
