Hello!

Well that was productive!

I've just done a month without using the internet.

It wasn't quite as extreme as that. I took Sunday's off. By which I mean, I allowed myself online on Sundays because I wasn't trying to work on Sundays because I was doing the radio show on Sundays.

And I used e-mail. But on work days - and that's been Monday to Saturday - I ignored twitter, facebook, youtube, this blog and the rest of the world wide web. And it was a useful exercise. I got a lot of work done.

So... what did I miss?

Happy New Year

Stairs, originally uploaded by Dave Gorman.

Here's wishing you a very happy new year.

I had an amazing 2010. If 2011 comes close to being as good I'll be bloody delighted.

My new year resolution is to leave the internet alone for a while. Not for long. Just long enough to get some work done. I won't be on twitter, I won't be blogging and I won't be checking my e-mail... until I've got this chunk of work out of the way. Then normal service will be resumed.

I'll be on twitter when I do the radio show a week on Sunday... because that's a conversation... but not in between times. It's simply too distracting. As many of you know I have a history when it comes to the internet distracting me from work. Not this time internet! You're not the boss of me.

I'm not saying what the work is on purpose. If I do people will ask questions. If people are asking questions I know I'll get dragged back to the internet to answer them. And if I do that, I won't get the work done. It's a vicious circle.

Right. Internet off. See you soon! And a happy new year!
